Of key importance to the Ohio Tourism Division's marketing effort is promoting travel to and within Ohio through consumer and travel trade advertising. The Marketing and Advertising office enhances brand development through a series of targeted, research-based campaigns. On a regular basis, the Division develops television and print advertising campaigns designed to build the "Ohio: State of Perfect Balance" brand. On a national level, the Division advertises within travel industry publications primarily targeted at group travel planners and travel agents. The Division also advertises Ohio tourism globally through the Internet and through international efforts with the Great Lakes of North America.

As a service for Ohio's travel industry, the Division offers cooperative print and online advertising programs that offer partners the opportunity to gain tremendous exposure for a reduced advertising rate.
